In the UK, you can apply for two types of Student Visa.

  • Visitor Student Visa. With this visa, you are allowed to study in the UK for less than 6 months. However, you are not allowed to work, extend your visa nor apply to obtain Visa Schengen.
  • General Student Visa. This visa is granted for courses of 6 months or more. With this visa you are alloed to work 20 hours per week, you can extend your visa and apply to obtain Visa Schengen.

Applying from the Country of Origin .

If you are outside the UK, your conditions to apply for student visa are different to the students that are already in the UK and want to extend their visa.

To apply with Student Visa for Visitors, you must complete the visa application VAF1D - student visitor.

To apply with General Student Visa you must fill in two application forms: General Student application under the points based system and a self-assessment test. For more information contact us.

Applying from the United Kingdom.

If you are already are in the UK, and want to extend your student visa, you can first consult our free educational advise service where we offer you Schools, Colleges and/or Universities according to your academic profile. To apply for a Student Visa extension in the UK, you need to fill in the TIER 4 application form, which last version is available from the Home office - UK Border Agency.
